During the February 4, 2025 Council Meeting, Council passed first reading of Bylaw No. 1144-25: Animal Regulations Bylaw. This Bylaw is set to replace the Town’s current Animal Regulations, Dog Control, and Urban Hen Bylaws. Following a period of public engagement, amendments to the Town’s animal regulations were thoroughly considered by the Bylaw and Policy Committee and reviewed by Council. Notable amendments include defining which types of livestock are allowed in Town, clarifications on Vicious Dog procedures, and the inclusion of a new Urban Beekeeping program.

Any questions, concerns, or comments can be submitted to Legislative Services Coordinator Kassidy Stevens by emailing [email protected].
