The Province of Alberta announced this morning that Westwind School Division will receive design funding for a new High School to be built in Raymond. The new high school will accommodate Grade 9-12 students and will positively impact the elementary and junior high schools by adding some much needed space. Raymond’s schools have been at or over capacity for a number of years and this historic investment in our community will improve the quality of our student’s education, provide additional employment opportunities and a significant economic boost to Raymond and area. Westwind School division is in the early phases of this project and many details are still to be determined. We will provide updates as we are able.
With the recent growth of 12.1% growth over the past 5 years (and 31% growth since 2006), Raymond continues to grow in meaningful ways. Additional investment in the community has had a significant impact in these growth opportunities. Investment growth and retention remains a top priority for the Town. This will also be the first NEW school built withing Westwind School Division since its formation.
