2021 General Election, Senate Election, and Referendum Vote
A General Municipal Election, Senate Election, and Referendum Vote was held in the Town of Raymond on Monday, October 18, 2021.
Mayor
There were two (2) nominations recieved for the Office of Mayor. After the mayoral ballots were counted and the official results were tabulated, it was determined that Mayor Jim Depew was re-elected and will serve as Mayor for a second four-year term.
Councillor
There were fourteen (14) nominations recieved for the Office of Councillor. After the councillor ballots were counted and the official results were tabulated, it was determined that Bryce Coppietters, Kate Kindt, Kelly Jensen, Matt Evans, Neil Sieben, and Allen Tollestrup were elected and will serve as Councillors for a four-year term.
Senate Election
Electors were also asked to select three (3) Senate nominees who may be summoned to the Senate of Canada to fill a vacancy or vacancies relating to Alberta. There were (13) nominations received for Senate nominee. After the Senate ballots were counted and the official results were tabulted, it was determined that electors in the Town of Raymond selected Erika Barootes, Pam Davidson, and Mykhailo Martyniouk as Senate nominees.
Referendum Vote
Finally, electors were asked two (2) referendum questions:
1. Should section 36(2) of the Constitution Act, 1982 – Parliament and the government of Canada’s commitment to the principle of making equalization payments – be removed from the constitution?
2. Do you want Alberta to adopt year-round Daylight Saving Time, which is summer hours, eliminating the need to change our clocks twice a year?
Of those electors who requested a referendum ballot, 1116 voted “YES” and 297 voted “NO” to remove section 36(2) of the Constitution Act, 1982, from the constitution and 861 voted “YES” and 611 voted “NO” to adopt year-round Daylight Saving Time.
2018 Municipal By-Election
The Municipal By-Election was held on Monday, September 10, 2018 to fill the vacancy that arose after Councillor Greg Robinson stepped down from Council to begin employment as the Town’s Director of Economic Development and Tourism.
The Town received 2 nomination papers from Stewart Foss and Stephen Heggie. After the ballots were counted and the time for a recall had passed, Councillor Stewart Foss was elected to sit for the remainder of the four-year term.
2017 General Municipal Election
The 2017 General Municipal Election was held in Raymond on Monday, October 16, 2017. The position of Mayor and 6 Councillor positions were up for election.
Mayor
There were 3 nominations received for Mayor. After the ballots were counted and the time for recall had passed, Mayor Jim Depew was elected to sit for the four-year term.
Councillor
There were 10 nominations received for the 6 Councillor positions available for election and as such a general election was held on Monday, October 16, 2017 to determine which of the candidates would form the next municipal government.
After the ballots were counted and the time for a recall had passed, Councillors Ron Fromm, Ralph Price, Bryce Coppieters, Ken Heggie, Greg Robinson, and Joan Harker were elected to sit for the four-year term.
2013 General Municipal Election
The 2013 General Municipal Election was held in Raymond on Monday, October 21, 2013. The position of Mayor and 6 Councillor positions were up for election.
Mayor
George Bohne was the only nomination received for the office of Mayor and as such he was elected through acclamation for a third term.
Councillor
There were 8 nominations received for the 6 Councillor positions available for election and as such a general election was held on Monday, October 21, 2013 to determine which of the candidates would form the next municipal government.
After the ballots were counted and the time for a recall had passed, Councillors Jim Depew, Clark Holt, Cathy Needham, Dustin Ralph, Greg Robinson and Barry Wolsey were elected to sit for the four year term.

2010 General Municipal Election
The 2010 General Municipal Election was held in Raymond on Monday, October 18, 2010. The position of Mayor and 6 Councillor positions were up for election.
Mayor

After the ballots were counted and the time for a recall had passed, Councillors Jim Depew, Doug Holt, Cathy Needham, Dustin Ralph, Greg Robinson and Barry Wolsey were elected to sit for the three year term.
