Tomorrow night, Council is expected to pass their 2021-2025 Capital Spending Plan. This plan outlines what capital projects will be funded in 2021 and which projects have been endorsed (meaning included in the next four years) but may not actually be receiving funding in that given year. More information will be provided in the coming weeks about the other approved projects.

One of the projects to be completed is the $97,000 Playground Enhancement Project. This project will enhance the Lions, Phillips, and Southwest Park by enhancing the landscaping of the sites and adding additional amenities to these park spaces. We will be installing irrigation, planting new or added trees, bordered tree-wells, improved drainage, picnic tables, benches, etc. to each park this year. The parks will be closed at times throughout the spring/summer. Signs will be posted when the parks are closed and will be removed when the parks are reopened.

As such, we will be closing Lions Park at 8am on Wednesday, March 17, 2021, as we begin renovations. Unfortunately, there is no money budgeted to replace playground structures this year and those structures will remain in place for the present time.
