On April 15th, 2021, the Audit & Finance Committee welcomed auditors from the Mercer Wilde Group who presented the 2020 Audited Financial Statements to members of the committee. During that Committee, the members passed a motion to accept the 2020 Audited Financial Statements as presented.

On April 20, 2021, the financial statements were presented to the rest of the Council, and any questions were answered by members of the Audit & Finance Committee or administration.

Key takeaways…

  • Municipal Departments collectively achieved a budget surplus of $174,877 in 2020. This surplus is placed within our Municipal Revenue Stabilization Fund which is there to help the Town better manage external budget challenges from year to year.
  • 1,027,245 of long-term debt was repaid, bringing our outstanding balance owing to $9,013,565 at the end of 2020.
  • Despite spending Hell’s Creek Golf & Footgolf course posted a profit of $41,645.44. This was in addition to further operational improvements carried out in 2020.
  • Employee costs down almost 26% from 2019.
