Council preview Monday, August 10

Council Preview: Monday, August 10

Council will meet on Monday, August 10. The following is an overview of some key items on the agenda.

Bylaw No. 1169-26 – Land Use Bylaw Amendment

  • Council is considering an amendment to the Land Use Bylaw that would change the zoning of a lot from Manufactured Home Park R-2 to General Residential R-1.

Intermunicipal Collaboration Framework – County of Warner

  • The Town has expressed its interest in beginning discussions with the County of Warner to renegotiate the current Intermunicipal Collaboration Framework agreement. The ICF provides a framework for cooperation between the Town and County on services and matters of mutual interest.

Request for Site-Specific Reduction of the 300-Metre Setback – Transfer Station

  • The Town has written to Minister Grant Hunter requesting support for a site-specific reduction to the 300-metre setback around the Raymond Transfer Station. A reduced setback would help create future development opportunities in the northeast area of Town while continuing to consider the needs of the transfer station and surrounding community.

Community members can follow the discussion as Council reviews these items. The meeting begins at 6 p.m. on Monday, August 10, with the Municipal Planning Commission meeting first, followed by the regular Council meeting. Members of the public are welcome to attend in person or watch live on the Town’s YouTube channel. Council agendas and meeting materials are available here.
