Position Objectives:

The Town of Raymond is hiring a Communications Coordinator to deliver clear, engaging information to residents and stakeholders. Reporting to the HR Manager, this role manages corporate communications, media relations, digital content, community engagement, and marketing that supports municipal programs and local development. You’ll combine strategic planning with hands‐on content creation while collaborating across departments.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver communication plans, key messages, public notices, and updates.
  • Manage the Town’s website, social media channels, and digital campaigns.
  • Oversee social media channels: content creation, scheduling, monitoring, and analytics.
  • Prepare media releases and respond to media inquiries.
  • Support emergency and crisis communications as part of the municipal emergency management team.
  • Support community engagement activities such as surveys, open houses, and public meetings.
  • Design newsletters, posters, brochures, and other marketing materials.
  • Uphold municipal brand standards.
  • Capture photos and videos to support communications and promotion.
  • Assist with municipal events, announcements, and project-related communications.
  • Create and deliver marketing strategies that promote municipal programs and community assets.
  • Support tourism and economic development efforts.
  • Develop promotional materials and manage advertising placements.
  • Monitor marketing analytics and adjust campaigns for maximum effectiveness

Minimum Requirements:

  • Diploma or degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field.
  • 2–5 years of communications and/or marketing experience (municipal/public sector preferred).
  • Strong writing, editing, design, and content creation skills.
  • Experience managing websites, social media, and digital campaigns.
  • Comfort with photography/videography and design tools (Canva, Adobe).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, build positive relationships, and work independently.
