Subdivision & Development Appeals
The Subdivision and Development Appeal Board hears appeals of decisions made by the Development Officer, Subdivision Authority, or Municipal Planning Commission on development or subdivision applications. The Board is the final approving authority on such appeals within the Town of Raymond.
What can be appealed?
Decisions or orders of the Development Officer or Municipal Planning Commission regarding development and subdivision applications.
Who can appeal?
Development applications: The applicant or any person affected by the decision, development permit, or order.
Subdivision applications: The applicant and immediately adjacent property owners.
How to appeal?
A written notice of appeal stating your reasons must be filed with the SDAB Secretary within 21 days of the date the written decision was issued, accompanied by the non-refundable $300 appeal fee. Appeals will not be accepted without payment.
Your written notice must include:
-How you are affected by the decision
-Your detailed reasons for the appeal
-If you did not make your opposition known at the time the application was considered, the reasons why

What happens after an appeal is filed?
The Board Secretary will schedule a hearing and send written notice to the applicant, appellant(s), and those identified as adjacent landowners or persons likely to be affected by the development.
When is a decision issued?
The Board issues its written decision within 15 days of the hearing. This decision is final and not subject to further appeal.
