How the Program Works

Our work focuses on identifying and treating areas where mosquitoes are most likely to develop.

• We identify standing water where mosquito larvae can grow within Town boundaries and around the community
• We monitor and treat these areas during peak mosquito season, from May to September
• When mosquito habitat is found, we look for ways to reduce or prevent larvae from developing
• Where needed, we use federally approved larvicides to control mosquito larvae before they become adult mosquitoes
