During last nights Council meeting, Council decided to close the pool for the 2020 season due to the lingering COVID-19 restrictions. The province has identified the re-opening of pools in the 3rd stage of their relaunch plan, however no dates have been provided as to when this may be as they are dependent upon future health indicators. Various maintenance projects will be completed at the pool during the summer to refurbish the facility and make it more energy efficient.
Council also determined that the 2020 edition of Heritage Days will be cancelled. However, we are working on some alternative activities that individuals and families can do on their own and/or be connected over various video conference platforms. So, stay tuned as more information will be announced as we closer to July 1st, 2020.
2020 has been an interesting year and Council would like to thank everyone for their diligence at heeding the guidelines of our provincial health officials. Let’s hope that the lifting of restrictions can proceed in a safe but timely manner and that we can look forward to hosting our friends, families, neighbours and guests to the Aquatic Centre and Heritage Days in 2021!
