Westwind School Division and Town Council are please to announce that all local playgrounds in Raymond have been re-opened to the public today. Signs will be posted at the sites to warn visitors that they must follow public health guidelines outlined by the province, including maintaining two metres of physical distance from others, gathering in groups of 50 or fewer, and only sharing common equipment with members of the same family or cohort.
The town will not be sanitizing the equipment at our 5 municipal playgrounds or the school playgrounds. Users are expected to wash or sanitize their hands before and after use, and people who are sick are asked to stay home.
Basketball and tennis courts have previously been re-opened following the same guidelines and users are encouraged to bring their own equipment. No team sports or activities are yet permitted.
Council encourages parents to help monitor their children’s activities to ensure compliance while using the facilities. If social distancing and group-size limits are not followed at a playground, a capacity limit may be posted at the identified location in the future.
