Town Council passed the first reading of Bylaw 1054-18: Tax rate. Second and third readings will take place at council meeting on April 17, 2018. Public comment is welcome.
Tax rate is a combination of the and education tax, seniors requisition, and a municipal tax. The municipal tax is the percentage the town has to multiply against the total assessed value of properties in Raymond to cover expenses. The mill rate is being increased from 7.5 to 7.575, a one percent increase. This means if your previous property tax was $3000 and the property assessment has not changed, your tax bill will increase by $30 (one percent).
