Council has passed 1st Reading of the amended Waste Management Bylaw (976-10). The objective with this amendment is to remove Appendix B, Waste Management Policy, from the bylaw.
Council is currently considering several small changes to the policy to align it with current practices. Prior to changing the policy, administration is recommending that it be removed from the bylaw — doing so allows the policy to be a standalone document, and allows for a more efficient amendment process for the future (policy amendments require a motion from Council, while bylaw amendments require three readings and public notice).
